Nikon D5600 DSLR camera with lens kits launched starting at Rs 53,450

NEW W DELHI: After Canonand Sony, Nikon too has expended its camera portfolio in India with the launch of a new DSLR camera. Called D5600, the digital single lens reflex camera will be available in India by the end of this month.

Nikon D5600 DSLR has a starting price of Rs 53,450 for the body only. The pricing differs according to the lenses purchased with the body.

With the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens, the D5600 costs Rs 58,950. If the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens is purchased with the camera, the price increases to Rs 71,450. Finally, buying the camera with the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens carries a price tag of Rs 69,450. The price is the same if the 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR lens is purchased with the D5600.

Nikon says that the D5600 DSLR has been specifically designed for "photography hobbyists and content creators." It comes with easy sharing features and features a 24.2MP sensor with Nikon DX-format CMOS sensor without an optical low-pass filter. There's also an EXPEED 4 image-processing engine, ISO range of 100 - 25600 and time lapse movie functionality.

The new DSLR camera comes with a 3.2-inch variable-angle touchscreen LCD monitor along with some new additions. These include a crop functionality during playback zoom and a frame advance bar to scroll through images in playback mode. Overall, the touchscreen functions are the same as those found in the Nikon D5500.

Like some of Nikon's other DSLR cameras, the D5600 connects with smartphones and other mobile devices using the SnapBridge app and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology. Using the app, users can easily view the clicked image on their smartphone screens. The app can also transfer images even when the camera is switched off. Users can upload images to Nikon Image Space platform too. For remote shooting and wireless video transfers, the Nikon D5600 includes built-in Wi-Fi functionality.

To recall, Nikon launched its 'KeyMission' line-up of action/wearable cameras back in September. The new range includes three new products - KeyMission 80, KeyMission 170 and KeyMission 360. While the company had launched KeyMission 360 earlier this year, the other two cameras are new products.
