NEW DELHI: Google has finally launched its Daydream app on Android. The app brings high-quality VR content to Android smartphones that support Google's Daydream VR platform such as the Pixel and Pixel XL. It can also be used to configure Daydream supported VR controllers for an enhanced virtual reality experience.
Users can browse and install apps in VR mode on-the-go. Currently, the new Pixel and Pixel XL are the only Daydream compatible smartphones available in the market.
The Daydream app lets users browse a collection of VR apps and games, bringing content front and centre. To recall, Google introduced its Daydream VR headset back in May at a price of $69.
Apart from this, the search giant has launched a new VR-compatible YouTube app on Android. Dubbed YouTube VR, the app allows users to watch and browse 3D 360-degree videos along with standard videos. Users can also view standard videos in a 'theatre mode'. The app allows switching between voice and keyboard controls for browsing and searching operations.
Google recently started rolling out support for payments through net-banking in Google Play Store purchases. The new feature will allow users to pay for apps, games etc. available on the Google Play Store via net-banking, instead of having to use credit/debit cards.
In order to use net-banking payment functionality, users just need to choose the bank at the payment prompt in Google Play Store. They will be then redirected to a secure landing page for the bank, where they can add login details for the game or app to be purchased. This is likely to be really beneficial for users who don't own a credit card.
Almost all popular banks are listed on the Google Play Store for net-banking payment support.
