NEW DELHI: Alcatel has launched its MoveTime kids smartwatch in India. Priced at Rs 4,790 the device is exclusively available on Flipkart.
The smartwatch enables kids to communicate with pre-approved contacts and supports GPS. The watch runs company's in-house Nucleus operating system and sports 0.95-inch OLED display with 64x94 pixel resolution. It is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
The all-new Alcatel kids smartwatch is backed by 370 mAh battery and promises to deliver four days of battery backup. It also features an SOS button for emergency situations where a distress signal is sent to parents. Calls from strangers are rejected automatically in the watch.
The watch's interface is simple and navigation appears easy. Parents can track their kids' location with the help of dedicated iOS and Android apps. These apps send alerts to parents when their children enter or leave a pre-determined safe zone.
The comes in two different colour combinations -- Blue and Orange wristband and red and blue wristband. It is IP65-rated, which makes it dust and water resistant.
Earlier this year, Alcatel launched its 4G smartphone named Pop Star at Rs 6,999. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz 64-bit quad core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB in-built storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 32GB capacity.
The smartphone has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. It also comes with a 2,000 mAh battery.
