Going by the report of Gizchina, it is being expected that Xiaomi will bring back the Samsung-made curved AMOLED display to Mi Note 2, which it had discarded in Mi 5’s display. It was mentioned in the report that like Vivo Xplay5 Elite, Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 will also offer the curved screen display technology.
The Vivo Xplay5 Elite by Vivo offers a 5.43 inch QHD Super AMOLED display and it comes with 1440×2560 pixels resolution, the display screen being the Samsung-made ‘dual edge’ curved screen.
The rumour about Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sporting the curved AMOLED display was confirmed by a report of ZDNet. The report mentioned that the two Chinese companies, Xiaomi and Huawei, have requested for samples of curved screen from Samsung Display. This news makes it certain that the two companies will be adding this technology in their future smartphones and it is likely that Xiaomi will be adding this technology to its upcoming Mi Note 2.
It has also been reported that the smartphone companies like, HTC, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Meizu are working on 3D Touch display technology and very soon these companies will introduce their smartphones with this technology. In the Mobile World Congress 2016, Gionee already launched its S8 smartphone with the 3D Touch technology and Huawei introduced the pressure sensitive smartphone display with its launch of Mate S at the IFA 2015.
Mi Note 2 will be the successor of Xiaomi Mi Not, which was launched in January this year. Mi Note comes with a 5.7 inch full HD display along with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and pixel density of 386ppi. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the front side has a 2.5D glass for protection, whereas, the rear side of the device comes protected by the 3D glass.
