After adding document support to its instant messaging platform, WhatsApp is now expected to roll out a revamped settings page for Android users.

The new WhatsApp version 2.12.506 is yet to hit the PlayStore, though has already arrived on APK Mirror website. Interested users can now download and install the APK file or register for Google Play’s beta programme to get the new update.
The most notable change with the update is the placement of your profile picture. The option will now appear on top instead of Help, and features a floating action that allows users to change their profile image directly.
In addition, there’s a new ‘Data Usage’ option on the list, allowing users to control the type of media files the app can download when on Wi-Fi, mobile data or while on roaming. Even Chat and calls have been changed to just ‘Chats’ which also comes under Data usage. The new update also bids farewell to the payment option which was earlier found under the ‘Account’ tab.
WhatsApp had a user base of one billion as of February 2016, which makes it the most popular instant messaging service around the globe. The company also introduced a fairly big update for iOS users, which allows them to share photos, videos and documents from third-party apps such as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive.
